Gustatus: The Sense of Taste festival, Orbetello, Italy

“Gustatus: The Sense of Taste” is a wine and food festival that  takes place from 29 October to 1 November in the lagoon town of Orbetello. A four day festival of gastronomic food and wine tasting by the  lagoon, Orbetello’s “Il Senso del Gusto” of smells and flavours of the rural tradition is an important annual tradition in Maremma’s annual calendar that fill Orbetello with visitors all day long.

During the event, an abandunce of markets, including a fish market and artists markets can be found in the streets of Orbetello. The event’s mission is to promote the Maremma’s region wine and food delicacies, as well as the cultural and folkloric traditions of the area. Along with the events linked to local products,the Gustatus festival also involves guided tastings, workshops and conferences.
